Go Beyond -Consider
Consider for a moment, if you will, all that I am about to put forth – but the request is not in considering my words, they are in looking at yourself and your own understanding and perceptions. Do not read here for my meaning, read for your own. Connect the dots in front of you and look at the image it creates for you. That is where the magic is. Your perception is uniquely yours. Thinking deeply and broadly requires you to examine it all and come to a perception that will be yours alone and yet mysteriously a part of the collective.
I am halfway through Eckhart Tolle’s book entitled A New Earth. So far my takeaway is that he is stating things I have understood for myself on my own for awhile now but had not packaged and processed fully. His proclamations at times sound mystical and magical but make sense to me still only because I have actually experienced them and lived them. Because we cannot see with our eyes, hear with our ears, and manipulate with our hands does not mean it does not exist.
I have a dear friend who is suffering mightily. She is far away in her mind, locked in a bitter battle with perceptions that are no more “real” than is Santa Claus. She perceives harshness and ugliness all around her yet she has a fierce light within – a light of which she seems completely unaware. I feel it, and sense it and so do a multitude of others she has in her life. It is far more real than the abrasive, bruised, negativism she wallows in and parades about in as if it were her own, but it is a mantle that was laid on her shoulders in another life. She wears it still despite it’s hideousness. The inner glow she generates of her own doing, unconsciously, but she cannot see it for herself. She is attached to the cloak that is ill fitted and worn. When she is uncertain or unsure it hides the light within even more. She pulls it around her and it consumes her.
When we consider for a moment and think deeply and broadly we are not holding to perceptions that are believed and concrete but are opening to possibilities and realms that we may not understand fully but with time may truly come to know. Stand on the edge and really look – stand very still and sense. Feel. Science is the concrete but we know that atoms are real too – go beyond the concrete. Go beyond the perception in front of you and make room for possibilities.
This is a prescription for moving past what you think you know to alternatives. Considering means opening avenues and channels. When you consider, you make room for choices. Please consider that seeing, hearing, touching, tasting and smelling merely address the surface. Go beyond and feel, sense, and imagine much more.
